OPEN STUDIO WEEK: july 12 -18 ... Sophie Munns at Mt Coot-tha


Sophie Munns is conducting this week long event as part of her residency at Brisbane Botanic Gardens at Mt Coot-tha for the year. Homage to the Seed is an 'art meets science' project championing seeds coinciding with the United Nations International Year of Biodiversity.

 




You are warmly invited to come and spend some time over the 7 days of this event at the Randall Studio at the Brisbane Botanic Gardens at Mt Coo-tha. The studio is easily found as its on the left immediately when you enter the main car park - a small self-contained buidling - in the style of an old school-house.

Featured are;
Monday:  'Pop-up' Studio opens 10am-5pm each day for 7 days... 9am opening on Sunday!
Wednesday:  afternoon Art Workshop - bookings being taken.
Thursday:  1pm Public Talk by Jason Halford from the Seeds for Life/Millennium Seed Bank project.... donation entry
Saturday:  family day... kids art and a barista making seriously good coffee for adults.
Sunday:  1pm - 3.30pm Free Public dialogue - Seeds, Biodiversity and Sustainability with guest speakers. NB Studio doors will close for duration of this event.

On show all week will be completed art work from the Residency project commenced February, a temporary working studio set-up,  "Postcards from the blogosphere" - a mail art show all bloggers are welcome to add to over the week, a cafe area for coffee and cake for the week, a 'collection's corner'... seedpods, seed related books and material and a community notice board.

NB: Tuesday and Friday are excellent days to come by and enjoy the space with out an event running!

Hi Candy,
just found your comment now...thank you... it closed days ago and I am still getting round to adding photos and writing it all up...little exhausted.. dont want to miss the moment though...thanks for your delightful enthiusiasm!
